Salem Creek

Did this plein air this afternoon. Been down in my back for a couple of days, but it feels much better after painting.

I rearranged things slightly. Trying again to simplify as much as my brain will allow. This one was done with a palette knife. I had planned on using both but once I got going I couldn't stop myself. I like this one. It seems to be more impressionistic. One of those you view squinting, at a distance. ;)

Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

Truly amazing to me that you are able to analyze, simplify and paint such a complex scene so beautifully. Wow!

Bill,
This looks great, I have to remind myself to simplify too. Glad you're feeling better.

Hi Rhonda. Thanks. Simplifying, whether on a studio piece or plein air, is something I have to really work on all the time.

Thanks Marian. The back goes out about once a year. Getting back to normal.
