Inca Street

Here's one I've done for a small works show at the Abend Gallery in Denver that's coming up in early December. This is a little house near the tracks on Inca Street.

"Inca Street"
8" x 10", oil on stretched linen, palette knife

I love your oil painting. You are very talented. I do abstract artwork for fun with acryllic and canvas. It can be quite relaxing.

Check out my blog, I'm new to this whole world and it's my new addiction!

Lovely range of values and fabulous technique with the knife. I'm plodding along trying to gain control over the knife and finding it tricky to perform the contortions needed to make the marks I want.

Inca Street is one of my favourites that you've done lately. Great composition and use of colours especially the blue house with all the grey variations in the roof and shadows which is all setoff by the very dark deep forest between the tree and the top floor of the house. Right choice for a palette knife painting with all the straight lines and you have such control over that knife.
