Boat at Saint Malo

A Street View painting done tonight. I'm including the screenshot and the painting to show how much I changed (for better or worse) the comp, colors, values, etc. This was an exercise; in futility? I'll wait a day or so to make that decision. I must admit I had lots of fun with the thick paint.

9"x 12", oil on linen

I like the license you've taken with the original photograph Bill. In fact, your version is way nicer than the original! I thank you too for helping me step outside the box a bit more. I'll try to remember this lesson for next month.

Nothing futile about this vibrant piece. Lovely colour and texture.

I really like this... would you consider editing the tree out completely? Very interesting to see the ref photo and your interpretation of it.

I can't put my finger on it, but I hear music with this one! Lovely work all around.

Thanks Autumn, Mick, Maggie and Tina.

Maggie, I thought about leaving the tree out. I may revisit this one and chop that tree down in the future.
