Bill- found you through a comment you left on Frank Gardners blog. Your work has the look and feel of a painter with many years of experience in their palette. I'm really taken with the elegant simplicity of this piece especially. The color use and subject matter are really so symbiotic and lovely.
Thank you Bill- I switched just recently from Acrylics to Oils. It's been a fun but frustrating experience. I look at your work and see a sophistication of color that I so admire and have a hard time achieving in oils. Either everything gets muddied, or it's too bright, or my biggest nemesis, when I add white to lighten a color, everything looks pasty and chalky.
I've come back to this work of yours to see how you managed to say so much with so few colors and I'm stumped.
It's very impressive that you've only been at this for 6 months.
