Below the Falls

Did this plein air piece before work this morning. The spot is located just below the falls at Salem Park in Cumberland County, Kentucky. With the recent rain there was actually water in the creek, but only a trickle coming over the falls.

You painted BEFORE going to work! You're prolific, fast and good too.

Lovely mood in this piece and I like seeing the brush marks of the support underneath. Is that one of the layers of gesso?

Hi Bonnie. Yes, that is gesso marks you see. I usually leave the gesso rough for my plein air landscapes.
