The above painting, along with the other three posted with "Ken Auster Workshop" in the titles were all painted during a three day workshop with Ken in Charlotte, North Carolina from October 8 thru October 10, 2008. It was supposed to be a plein air workshop but it rained every day so we painted inside from some of Ken's photographs. Any questions or comments just let me know.

I call this one the Judd House because it was occupied for many years by the Harlan Judd family. Now the inhabitants happen to be my mother and father.

Not a lot of color right now. Too dry. Looks like the leaves are going to mostly turn brown and fall off this year. Painted this up Little Renox Creek today behind my sister's house.

Got word yesterday that I've been awarded a grant through the Kentucky Arts Council. It's a Individual Artist Professional Development Grant to be used for workshops and other things. Since I'll be attending a Ken Auster workshop in less than two weeks I already had the fiscal end of the event worked out. That made it all the more easy to fill out the necessary paperwork/application with an itemized list. It was also a juried award, which means the Panel first, and then the Board, had to approve of my work samples, which makes me feel good.
