Slough Re-Do

Here's an updated version of the Slough with Trees painting that you can see a couple of posts back. I took the chainsaw out and got rid of the light valued tree. I like it much better now. Let me know what you think.

"Slough (without tree)"

I like it much better. The other tree was a bit distracting and without it your painting is more cohesive. Very nice!

Totally agree - chopping that tree down made all the difference!

I agree, it looks much better now. Removing the tree has created a greater sense of distance and now your eye is led up the hint of a pathway into the group of darker trees. The old tree truncated that journey. I feel like my vision can have an adventure in the scene now and that's great!

The question is did you get a permit to remove the tree, (spotted owl habitat). The painting looks much better now, better design, great colors.

Thanks folks. Sometimes you just gotta cut them down. ;)
