Spring Trees

Gorgeous day today. Temperature in the low 70's. I love this time of year.

I set up and did a little outdoor painting today. This one is pretty straight-forward. Trees. It measures 20" x 16", and is oil on oil primed linen panel. I'm throwing in a pic of the scene, the rough-in, and the finished piece. You can see what I changed in the painting, from what I was seeing. Most notable is the warmth I added to the foreground.

Very enjoyable image. You have captured the colour of spring very well. I love the effect of trembling leaves.

Wow Bill, this is beautiful! Thank you for putting up the original - it's great to see what you 'put in and leave out'.

I can feel the breeze and warmth through it :)

Love the changes you did to this scene, it really makes it work. It seems as though I am standing there, seeing the view for myself. Very nicely done!

This one is quite good. All green would have been less interesting (and more difficult). I am envious of anyone who can pain full time as I do medical reports all day. For that reason I work in small spurts.

Thanks for all the comments on this one.

And Mark, I only wish I painted full time. I do get to fit it in between my regular job, and dealing with family and household chores. And for that (and all the other stuff) I am grateful. :)
