This was painted using an Edward Curtis photograph from 1905 as a reference. It depicts Pose-a Yew, a Nambe Indian Brave. I don't know the story of this Brave, but the look he conveys, appears to me as one of defeat, hence the name of the painting.
Bill, I like the way you made it cohesive overall by using the blue in his hair in addition to the blanket. I know you're a fast painter but how long did it take you to paint this one? Rhonda

Hi Rhonda. I sketched it at lunch break. About 20 minutes. And then the painting took about two and a half hours.
