Here's a small plein air piece I did today. How 'bout that sunshine! Huh? It's about time. I walked in a creek forever, got muddy, got into thorns at different times, ended up frustrated, set up and painting a horrible mess, wiped it off, turned around and painted this. Still not great by any means, but better than the first one.

Hi Bill
ReplyDeleteYour painting yesterday and the one today seem to be a real departure from your previous work. I commend you for stretching yourself! And for getting out there while it is still cold. Your work ethic is inspirational.

Well, Bill, I really like it! It has some dark and mysterious undertones. I love the forest or woods, to be honest, and this piece reflects that mystique for me. Beautiful to my eyes!
ReplyDeleteI love the interweaving of the brances and exposed roots in these trees, Bill. Beautifully done...and I am jealous of your sunshine...it was just snowing here again and has been quite a grey day.
ReplyDeleteThis definitely has overtones of Harry Potter - a really dark and awesome painting. And I have to add that I totally and utterly admire your ability and willingness to go out in any weather to paint. A true plein air painter!
ReplyDeleteYa gotta love the sunshine Bill... I sense SpringTime around the corner.
ReplyDeleteblessings bro!
